Bicyclist injured by car on El Cajon street
SAN DIEGO, CA – A man suffered severe injuries after his bicycle was hit by a car in El Cajon on Wednesday evening, according to the Times of San Diego.
A bicyclist was riding in the bike lane on South First Street when he was struck by a sedan turning into a driveway near Lexington Avenue at about 7 p.m.
The victim was conscious when authorities arrived but had suffered obvious and serious head trauma. It also appeared that the accident had broken the victim’s leg. He was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital and it was reported that he lost consciousness on the way there.
His identity has not been released.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities. It did not appear that alcohol was a factor in the accident.
