Alcohol factors in early morning crash on I-8
SAN DIEGO, CA – Alcohol was a factor in a rollover accident that injured at least two people on Interstate 8 in the early hours of Thursday.
According to CHP, a black Ford Edge reported the accident to the authorities via an automated message after the car crashed with a black Mercedes on I-8. The Edge was rolled into the ditch near I-15 at about 1:50 a.m.
Authorities found the driver of the Ford stuck in the ditch and bleeding from his nose.
At least one person was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital with minor injuries.
It was also determined that one of the drivers was operating their vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, although it was unclear which driver this was.
