Abandoned crashed car found near Camp Pendleton
SAN DIEGO, CA – A vehicle was found abandoned and crashed near the train tracks close to Camp Pendleton South on Wednesday morning.
According to CHP, someone came upon the crashed vehicle next to the train tracks near the Stuart Mesa Mechanical Facility along I-5 at about 4:20 a.m. The vehicle was abandoned when the passerby called 911 but appeared to have come from I-5.
While a tow truck was called to the scene, crews searched the area for the driver of the car. After finding no one, they surmised that the driver, and any passengers, had fled the scene without reporting the damage they caused.
No other vehicles were involved.
