17-year-old girl injured by red-light runner in Mission Bay
SAN DIEGO, CA – A 17-year-old girl was seriously injured when a car ran through a red light and struck her in the Mission Bay area on Sunday evening.
According to Fox News San Diego, the girl was using the crosswalk at the intersection of West Mission Bay Drive and Bayside Lane at about 6:55 p.m. A westbound 1996 Lexus sedan went through the red light at the Bonita Cove parking lot and struck the girl.
Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital. She had suffered a brain bleed, fractures in her face and limbs, and considered in life-threatening condition.
The driver, a 63-year-old man, remained at the scene. Intoxication did not factor in the accident.
