Publish Date: 2022/06/04

OCEANSIDE, CA – One person was killed and another was hospitalized when a skydiving plane crashed near Oceanside Municipal Airport on Friday afternoon, according to the Times of San Diego.

The incident occurred at around 1:45 p.m., east of Bob Maxwell Memorial Field and State Route 76, when a single-engine Cessna 208B Caravan plane crashed into a field.

Authorities had to cut open the plane in order to free the two occupants, both reportedly employees of GoJump Oceanside, from the wreckage.

A man and a woman were taken to the hospital, where the female victim was later declared deceased.

The man remains at the hospital in undisclosed condition.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation at this time by multiple agencies, including the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
