Amtrak train collides with pickup truck, leaving truck driver with severe injuries in Oceanside
SAN DIEGO, CA – On Thursday, April 3rd, a man was driving his pickup truck across the train tracks near Cassidy street and South Meyers street when his vehicle was struck by an oncoming train. According to sources, the train was moving at 60 miles an hour. The train engineer was unable to stop the train in time, although he sounded his warning horn repeatedly to get the driver off the tracks.
The driver of the pickup truck was severely injured and had to be airlifted to Scripps Memorial Hospital. The extent of his injuries is unclear at this time.
