21-year-old bicyclist killed in Escondido crash
SAN DIEGO, CA – According to Patch, a 21-year-old man was killed in a collision with a truck in Escondido. The young man rode through a stop sign at the intersection of East Grand Avenue and Cedar Street when an eastbound Dodge Caravan struck the bicycle. The 39-year-old truck driver stopped at the scene and complied with the police; he was uninjured. Emergency services attempted to save the young bicyclist, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police temporarily closed down the road crossing for investigation and cleanup.
