2 killed in wrong-way crash on Interstate 5 in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA – The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that two people were killed in a wrong-way accident around 1 a.m. on March 11th. The accident occurred on Interstate 5 near Hawthorn Street and 6th Avenue. Police received reports that a black Sudan was driving south in the northbound lanes of I-5. Before police could get on scene, the Sudan crashed into another car. Both drivers, a 33-year-old woman and a 58-year-old man, were killed in the crash.
Police shut down the freeway for several hours for investigation and accident clean up.
