Interstate 15 (I-15) Trucking and Car Accidents

Interstate 15 (also known as "the I-15" or "the 15") is the major north-south freeway, particularly used by interstate tractor trailor trucks to haul their loads, running along the inland corridor of San Diego County, beginning at Interstate 8 (I-8) and continuing through Escondido and Temecula in North San Diego County.

I-15 intersects or connects with several freeways as it crosses through the San Diego metropolitan area, including SR 56 which heads east to Santee and west to La Jolla, and SR 78 which heads east through Oceanside, Vista, and San Marcos. Heading south from Interstate 8, I-15 becomes SR 15 which continues south until it merges with I-5 southbound in National City.

Because I-15 runs from San Diego in the south through Riverside and the Los Angeles area in the north, through to Barstow, before finally crossing the Nevada border just south of Las Vegas, many big-rig trucks and tractor trailers use the freeway to carry their trailers.
