Imperial Beach Car Accident Lawyer Celebrates How Safe Imperial Beach is for Motorists
The City of Imperial Beach is a coastal community located in the southernmost part of California. It is a residential beach city located along the Pacific Ocean and South San Diego Bay with a population of over 30,000 in 2006. Imperial Beach is also located in an area called South Bay in San Diego County, which is about 14 miles south of Downtown San Diego and 3 miles from Downtown Tijuana in Mexico. It is the home of the magnificent Imperial Beach Pier and is known for its many untouched beaches and natural resorts. And because of this, people refer to Imperial Beach as “Classic Southern California.”
To get to Imperial Beach, those on cars and motorcycles can take Silver Strand Boulevard, otherwise known as State Route 75 (SR-75), where you will find major streets and roads such as 9th Street and Palm Avenue. Imperial Beach is located along Palm Avenue so you can take 9th street if coming from the south or Silver Strand Boulevard from the north western part of the city. Vehicles will be intersecting Palm Avenue from there. From San Diego, take Interstate 5 (I-5) southbound. From Otay Mesa, drive along State Route 905 (SR-95).
Though Imperial Beach is recognized as a nice beach community, there are many injuries and fatalities due to auto, motorcycle, and even bicycle accidents. According to the 2008 Statewide Integrated Transit Report System which contains information regarding California auto accidents, Imperial Beach had a total of 51 injury accidents due to car, motorcycles, and bicycle accidents. Nine of these motor vehicle accidents resulted from alcohol-related DUI driving, seven occurred as a result of a car striking a pedestrian, eight from bicycle vs. car accidents, and four from motorcycle crashes.
“Imperial Beach is blessed with a very safe community for motorists,” according to Imperial Beach car accident lawyer Ross Jurewitz. “Very few auto accidents happen within the city limits. However, many residents are injured as they travel between Imperial Beach and San Diego for work or pleasure.”
