Congestive Heart Failure, Also Known as Heart Failure, is the Number One Cause of Death for People 65 and older.
Congestive heart failure (CHF) is a condition in which the heart has difficulty when circulating blood through the rest of the body. This often leads to swelling, particularly in the legs, and makes it difficult to engage in work activities. Because of the weakened heart, an individual may not fully recover and maintain a steady job. They may be eligible for Social Security Disability (SSD) and Social Security Supplemental Income (SSI).
In order to successfully claim benefits, a person must provide MRIs and other diagnostic tests of the heart to the Social Security Administration. If you are unsure if you qualify, ask your doctor.
