San Diego Hit-and-Run Car Accident Victim
Our client was driving his truck in the Golden Hill area of San Diego when a hit-and-run driver drove his car from a side alley and struck the side of the truck in an t-bone car accident. The driver of the car left on foot with his passenger, leaving our client injured at the scene.
The insurance company for the car owner originally denied liability because the owner stated that the car was lent to her son who reported it stolen--after the auto accident. After working closely with the San Diego Police Department, the Jurewitz Law Group was able to convince the insurance company that the car was, in fact, not stolen but was driven by the owner's son with her permission. We were also able to reduce the emergency room and hospital bills to maximize our client's net settlement recovery.
Unfortunately, this is another case where our client's damages exceeded the at-fault party's insurance policy limits and assets. To make matters worse, our client did not have underinsured motorist coverage (UM/UIM), so we were limited to the at-fault insurance policy limits.
