A 7-year old girl lost her life in a fatal San Diego pedestrian accident that took place on April 3‚ 2010‚ sometime during the afternoon. The accident took place in the Encanto neighborhood of San Diego in the 500 block of Iona Drive near Kenwood.
The little girl‚ Ayania Murrell‚ was a Spring Valley resident and had come to a friend’s place when she ran across the street and was struck by a pickup truck. Murrell was taken to Rady Children’s Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. San Diego Police are searching for an ice cream truck that may have witnessed the tragic injury that killed this young child.
Our office wishes to offer our heartfelt condolences and prayers to the family and friends of the little girl. We understand how torturous it is to lose someone so young. From a personal injury attorney’s perspective‚ we wonder why she unexpectedly ran across the street and in front of the truck. Did she hear an approaching ice cream truck and was lured by its’ music and treats? Was the driver of the truck on his cell phone or otherwise distracted? Regardless‚ the loss of human life and that of a small child is heartbreaking. As parents and adults‚ all we can do is guide our children to always look before crossing the street and not to run out in front of traffic.
