The remains of a Navy helicopter crash were discovered yesterday, June 16, 2009. The helicopter crash happened southwest of San Diego when the helicopter crashed into the Pacific Ocean near the Coronado Islands. All five Navy personnel on board--Lt. Cmdr. Eric J. Purvis of Poway, CA; Lt. allison M. Oubre of Slidell, LA; Chief Petty Officer Samuel "Grant" Kerslake of Hot Springs, AR; Petty Officer 2nd Class Aaron L. Clingman of Bend, OR; and Petty Officer 2nd Class Sean Ward of Lovelock, NV--were killed. The remains will be brought to North Island Naval Air Station in Coronado for inspection.
