Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash that took place on November 15 in Carmel Valley. According to police, a white SUV headed south and tried to take a left turn when it collided with a black sedan.
The impact of the crash smashed the front of the sedan and the SUV rolled over till it finally came to rest on its hood. Fortunately, the first officer present on the accident scene confirmed that no one was badly hurt in the crash.
The female driver of the white SUV suffered a cut on her hand while she crawled out of the vehicle. Cooper, a dog that was also in the white SUV, was shaken up but felt better after getting some immediate attention from the owner. We are relieved that no one suffered any serious injuries and would wish the injured victims all the best for their recovery.
Seatbelts are definitely the most important safety tool in vehicles and need to be worn by all the motorists, irrespective of their age and driving experience. This rollover car accident is a clear example of the fact that wearing a seatbelt can save you from major injuries and death.
According to the California Office of Traffic Safety, overall, the state of California has hit record seat belt usage rates this year. Approximately 96.6% of motorists in California now use seat belts and there has been an increase of .4% from the year 2010.
However, no matter how safe you drive, you cannot control the reckless or negligent driving habits of those with whom you share the road.
Not all victims of rollover accidents have the same luck by walking away unhurt. Unfortunately, if you were injured in a rollover accident and want to seek justice for pain and suffering and other medical expenses, contact our Carmel Valley rollover accident attorneys at (888) 233-5020.

A pregnant woman was rescued from a rollover crash that took place on November 8 around 6:27 a.m. on the Interstate 8 onramp. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials reported that crew members rescued the female motorist who was trapped inside her rolled over sport utility vehicle (SUV) at Mission Gorge Road.
The injured motorist was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Another person was injured in the crash and was treated at the accident scene for the injuries sustained. All of us here at the Jurewitz Law Group hope and pray for the quick recovery of all injured victims involved in this terrible accident.
It is currently unknown as to the cause of this rollover accident, but possible causes can range from human error to automobile defects. Investigators will have to examine the vehicle for auto product/design defects and question any witnesses to determine the accident cause.
Rollover accidents are far too common in SUVs and trucks. Rollovers may occur due to a front or side impact with an object or other vehicle. SUVs have a higher center of gravity, which are known to also cause rollover accidents whenever a sudden turn is made. The injuries that result from these accidents can be quite severe and permanently damaging.
According to a 2009 report by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), SUVs have been involved in more rollover deaths and injuries as compared to rollover accidents involving smaller cars. According to the National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration (NHTSA), more than 10,000 people are killed in United States due to SUV rollover accidents.
Our San Diego SUV rollover accident lawyers have the required knowledge and practice to explain your rights as an injured rollover accident victim, whether it is due to manufacturing defects or negligence of another motorist.

A 27-year-old female motorist was killed in a rollover car crash that occurred on November 2 around 11:10 p.m. near Valley Center. According to California Highway Patrol officer Jim Bettencourt, the female motorist was driving a Nissan Versa west of Mactan Road and lost control of the vehicle due to unknown reasons.
The car veered over the road, struck a tree, and rolled over several times before it caught fire. The female motorist was pronounced dead at the accident site. Our law office sends our sincere condolences to the deceased’s family and friends during this difficult time.
Officer Bettencourt stated that it was unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in this fatal rollover car crash.
Rollover accidents in San Diego can typically occur when a driver loses control, from the force of impact with another vehicle/object, or when a vehicle drives off the road from a higher ground level. Rollover accidents are more common with trucks, Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs), and minivans because of their larger size and weight.
Rollover accidents sometimes involve manufacturing defects, such as roof crush, tire defects, and wheel base issues. Although it is not clear that this was the case in this Valley Center accident, manufacturing defects on this Nissan Versa will definitely need to be further investigated to be ruled out as the accident cause.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), more than 280,000 rollover accidents occur each year with 10,000 fatalities from these accidents. In the year 2003, 15.8% of fatal passenger car accidents resulted in a rollover.
