51-year-old Doug McKibben was killed in a drunk driving car crash that occurred on July 24‚ 2011‚ at Alessandro Boulevard and Graham Street in Moreno Valley. Riverside County police said McKibben was waiting for a red light at Graham in his a Ford Focus when he was rear ended by a Ford F-150 pickup driven by Jessica Hinck.
McKibben was immediately transported to Riverside County Regional Medical Center to receive medical treatment for the injuries suffered and was later pronounced dead. The female driver was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. Investigating officers booked Hinck for vehicular manslaughter.
Hinck will most likely be found to have violated California Vehicle Code Section 23152(a) which states that "It is unlawful for any person who is under the influence of any alcoholic beverage or drug‚ or under the combined influence of any alcoholic beverage and drug‚ to drive a vehicle." Under California law‚ it is illegal to drive a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher.
