Riverside Construction Worker Injured in DUI Car Accident

A 52-year-old Beaumont freeway worker suffered serious injuries in a car accident that occurred on July 20‚ 2011‚ around 10:41 p.m. along Highway 91 (US-91) in Riverside.  The construction site accident happened in the freeway’s westbound lanes at Van Buren Boulevard. According to CHP‚ a 21-year-old female motorist driving a tan colored vehicle struck the victim.

The injured victim required CPR immediately following. The driver attempted to flee from the scene of the accident but was taken into custody by San Bernardino police. From the available information‚ it is clear that reckless and negligent driving of the motorist led to this serious car crash that left a construction worker seriously injured.
