A woman suffered minor injuries in a suspected DUI (driving under the influence) crash that took place on May 1, 2012, around 8 p.m. in the 2500 block of Pico Place in Pacific Beach. According to police, a suspected drunken driver crashed his car into a truck and then fled the scene when the other driver mentioned calling the police. While fleeing, he slammed into another vehicle at 30-40 mph, causing that Jeep to crash into a parked SUV. The woman inside the Jeep was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
Police are now on the search for a hit-and-run driver who hit at least two vehicles in Pacific Beach and injured one woman. Alcohol may have played a role in this multi vehicle hit-and-run accident in San Diego.
If the Jeep driver is determined to have been at fault in this case, then he could face not only criminal DUI charges but could also be held financially responsible for the injuries and damages caused. The injured victim in such cases could seek compensation to cover medical expenses, loss of earnings, cost of hospitalization, rehabilitation, physical therapy, and other related damages.
Our personal injury law office hopes that the injuries suffered by the victim heal soon and do not prove fatal.
