A woman suffered serious injuries in a traffic collision that took place on May 7, 2012, around 2:17 a.m. along Interstate 10 (I-10) at Riverside Avenue. According to San Bernardino County Fire Department, the woman’s Hyundai Accent struck the back of a parked fire truck.
The firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free the woman from the wreckage. The injured woman was immediately transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for treatment.
At the time of the accident, the fire truck had its lights and sirens on. The four firefighters were not hurt. The investigating officers need to determine whether the loss of control was due to negligence or any vehicular malfunction or defect.
The victim’s family members may file an auto product liability claim against the manufacturer to obtain compensation to cover medical treatment, hospital bills, loss of wages, loss of earning capacity, and other related damages if the accident was caused by a vehicle defect.
Our personal injury law office sincerely hopes that the injuries suffered by the victim heal soon and do not prove fatal.
