Former Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jermaine Lewis was stun gunned Monday evening‚ August 15‚ 2011‚ after resisting arrest after a traffic collision in Baltimore County.
Phone calls were made about a Dodge Charger weaving on roads in the Reisterstown area and hitting the Boring Volunteer Fire Department’s sign without stopping.
When the officer went to the former NFL star’s Reisterstown home where the car was parked and Lewis lying on the couch‚ clearly intoxicated. When Lewis resisted arrest‚ the officer shocked him with a stun gun in order to subdue him. He was then taken to the precinct‚ where he was charged with resisted arrest and cited for multiple traffic offenses including driving on a revoked license‚ speeding‚ and a hit-and-run. Officers could not prove Lewis was driving drunk because he may have been drinking in his home before police arrived.
