A man was bitten by a dog that was tied up in front of Grocery Outlet at about 12:30 p.m. on March 18‚ 2010‚ in South Lake Tahoe. The bitten man and the owner of the dog ended up near the Edgin Coin-Op Car Wash and Broc’s Puppies where they had an altercation.
Within no time the South Lake Tahoe Police and El Dorado County Animal Services officers arrived at the scene. After Animal Services were satisfied that the dog had a current rabies vaccine‚ it was released to its owner. The bite victim was treated for the injuries.
The owner of the dog should have ensured that the dog was tied at a spot where it is safe for people to walk by without having to fear for their safety. Dog owners have a strict duty to ensure that their dogs do not injure others and they are held strictly liable if their dog does commit an injury.
