52-year-old Stephen Michael Tomasiak suffered fatal injuries in a solo-motorcycle wreck that occurred on October 3‚ 2011‚ around 2:30 a.m. on Avenida Del Oro‚ just north of Windansea Street. According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office‚ Tomasiak was riding his Kawasaki motorcycle northbound when he lost control and was thrown into the curb.
Oceanside police officers pronounced Tomasiak dead at the accident scene. Based on this news report‚ it is unclear what led to the loss of control. Investigating officers need to determine whether the loss of control was due to an auto defect‚ bad road condition‚ or the fault of the driver.
