An unidentified 21-year-old Marine was struck and killed in a tragic car accident that occurred on April 3‚ 2011 around 12:35 a.m. near Camp Pendleton in North San Diego County. According to California Highway Patrol Officers‚ the victim along with a fellow Marine were crossing the northbound onramp to Interstate 5 near Harbor Drive when he was struck by a 2009 Nissan Altima.
The victim was pronounced dead at the accident scene. Now it becomes the responsibility of the investigating officers to cite the at-fault car driver and bring him to justice. Did the driver ignore safety of traffic rules? Was he driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs so that he did not notice two men walking? If the other Marine also suffered injuries in this serious car accident then he will be eligible to obtain compensation to cover for medical treatment‚ hospitalization costs‚ and pain and suffering.

Four University of California at San Diego students suffered serious injuries in a head-on car accident that occurred on April 9‚ 2011‚ around 11:41 p.m. in the University City area of San Diego. According to San Diego Police‚ the students were injured by a suspected drunken driver who veered his Toyota truck into their lane and struck their Nissan sedan.
One of the injured students‚ in his early twenties‚ suffered a lacerated liver and spleen. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The other three students fortunately suffered minor bruises and scratches. The at-fault truck driver was taken to a local trauma center for observation and is believed to receive a felony for driving under the influence.
We all know the hazards of driving under influence of alcohol but we never seem to stop this menace. Due to negligence and ignorance of a drunken driver four young students suffered serious injuries. The Toyota driver will most likely be found to have violated California Vehicle Code Section 23152(a) which states that "It is unlawful for any person who is under the influence of any alcoholic beverage or drug‚ or under the combined influence of any alcoholic beverage and drug‚ to drive a vehicle."
The injured students and their parents should consult with an experienced personal injury lawyer in San Diego to know about their legal rights and options. They may be even entitled for a compensation to pay for the cost of treatment‚ medical and hospitalization costs.
Our personal injury law office sincerely hopes that the injuries suffered by the victims heal soon.

James Steven Swarzman‚ 47‚ of Encino was struck and killed in a fatal Encinitas bicycle accident that occurred on April 10‚ 2011‚ around 1 a.m. near the intersection of North Coast Highway 101 and Jason Street. According to San Diego County Sheriff’s Deputy Yvan Rogers‚ Swarzman was travelling along with two other bicyclists when he was rear ended by a vehicle. According to the witnesses‚ the at-fault motorist was driving a blue Ford F-150 and fled from the scene after hitting Swarzman.
Swarzman was immediately airlifted to Mercy Air to Scripps Memorial Hospital for treatment where he was later pronounced dead. From the available facts‚ it is not exactly clear who bears the fault for causing this accident. Swarzman himself might bear some responsibility depending where in the road he was riding and under what circumstances. However‚ drivers are always required to be on the lookout for pedestrians and bicyclists using the road. At the very least‚ the negligent driver should have stopped and tried to help Swarzman. His recklessness and indifference not only led to the fatal accident that took Swarzman’s life but may have increased the likelihood of death by fleeing the scene.
Running from an accident scene cannot be ignored‚ both legally and morally. It is simply incomprehensible that someone would turn his back on such an incident and run away. Leaving the scene of a traffic accident is a serious violation under California law. California Vehicle Code 20001 (a) states: "The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to a person‚ other than himself or herself‚ or in the death of a person shall immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident."
Swarzman’s family members should consult with an experienced bike accident attorney in San Diego to obtain compensation to pay for funeral and burial costs‚ loss of financial support‚ loss of love and companionship‚ and other accident related damages.
Our law office offers sincere condolences to all those who knew Swarzman for such a tragic loss.

Ann Hope Browne‚ of Zachary‚ Louisiana and sister of Louisiana State University (LSU) head football coach Les Miles was killed on Friday‚ April 22‚ 2011‚ around 12:30 p.m. when she was trying to merge from Sugar Mill Plantation Parkway onto the southbound lane of La. 1. The accident was reported upon by the Addis Assistant Police Chief David Jones and the West Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office.
Reportedly‚ Browne turned onto the highway with her 2007 Nissan Sentra when it was struck by a southbound Dodge Ram pickup truck. The truck struck the truck on the driver’s side‚ leaving Browne dead at the scene.
Our hearts go out to Browne’s family‚ including Coach Miles‚ for their loss. The loss of human life from a traffic accident is always heartbreaking. We hope that they find the love and support of their friends and family in this time of need.
From the facts of the auto accident‚ it appears that the other driver is at fault for causing the collision. Drivers must always keep an eye out for merging vehicles and other traffic impediments in the road ahead. However‚ Browne herself may bear some responsibility for causing this wreck. Merging drivers cannot enter the flow of traffic unless and until it is safe to do so. Browne’s family should contact a car accident lawyer who can investigate the cause of the accident and hire traffic accident reconstructionists to determine who was at fault for causing Browne’s death.

An unidentified motorcyclist was killed in a San Diego motorcycle accident that occurred on April 16‚ 2011‚ around 4:20 p.m. on State Route 78 in Escondido. According to California Highway Patrol Officer Chris Parent‚ the motorcyclist was riding between the two lanes and‚ at the point where lanes merge together‚ he lost control of the vehicle.
The impact of the crash was so strong that the motorcyclist was thrown off his bike towards the right shoulder of the road. Paramedics immediately transported the injured motorcyclist to Palomar Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
Unfortunately‚ it is unclear from the facts of the story why the accident occurred. There is a possibility that the accident may have been the result of a mechanical defect or design issue. It could have also been the result of an uneven road surface. Regardless of the facts‚ the victims’ families should consult with a San Diego personal injury attorney who can hire a trained private investigator to investigate how the accident occurred and to determine if there are any facts which would suggest that the accident was the cause of someone else’s negligence.
Loss of life means loss of love and companionship and loss of income. More than this it means a huge void to the family left behind. The victim’s family should get in touch with an experienced motorcycle accident lawyer who can help the victim’s family with the investigation and‚ depending on the facts‚ obtain compensation to pay for expenses incurred for funeral and burial and other accident related damages.
