On May 16‚ 2010‚ high school basketball star Tobi Oyedeji was involved in a head-on car accident on South Main near Hillcroft in Houston when his car hit another vehicle. Tobi was driving a Toyota Avalon that hit two vehicles head on‚ one of which was a Jeep SUV. A female driver who was driving the second vehicle was declared dead while the driver of the third vehicle was unhurt.
After taking Tobi to the hospital‚ a surgery was performed within a few hours of the accident. Unfortunately‚ Tobi was not able to recover from his injuries and passed away.
We give out heartfelt condolences to Tobi’s family and friends who have lost a brilliant kid. He died 5 days before his birthday and days before he was to enroll in Texas A&M University as a highly touted basketball recruit. We hope that all his fellow students will take inspiration from the success that he delivered in both studies and sports.

Boney James‚ a well known jazz saxophonist‚ was struck by an alleged drunken driver in Long Beach while he was heading home on May 15‚ 2010. According to Boney’s publicists‚ his car was rear ended while he stopped in traffic along Interstate 405 (I-405). The auto accident was a major one and left him badly hurt with gash on his chin‚ a fractured jaw‚ and 2 broken teeth.
The gash on the chin had to be treated with fourteen stitches. Passers-by pulled Boney out of his car. Boney has gone home after his emergency room treatment‚ but this car accident forced him to cancel a show that was planned to take place in Columbia‚ South Carolina.
We hope and pray that Mr. James recovers soon and is able to once again entertain his fans with his thrilling musical performances. This significant accident could have been far more tragic‚ resulting in his death. We only hope that the drunk driver is brought to justice and has the wherewithal to compensate Mr. James and his family for their loss. Due to his broken jaw‚ Mr. James will probably not be playing any concerts for awhile.
